Terri
Ellis Todd
currently holds the degree of Certified Associate Master in the
Ichiyo School of Ikebana. She has trained under Executive Master
Elaine Jo at the Ichiyo Art Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and Ichiyo
School Headmaster Akihiro Kasuya in Tokyo, Japan.
Terri's years of experience teaching adolescents and adults as a professional educator enable her to effectively transfer those skills she has learned from Ikebana masters to beginners as well as more advanced students. She is an active member of Ikebana International, and served as the official delegate for the Asheville Chapter at the Eighth World Convention of Ikebana International in Yokohama, Japan. She is the founder and first president of the Ichiyo School of Ikebana Study Group in Asheville, North Carolina. Other related affiliations include membership in the Ikebana Society of Hendersonville, North Carolina; Asheville Garden Club; Botanical Gardens at Asheville volunteer; North Carolina Arboretum; Asheville Art Museum; and Friends of Penland School of Crafts at Spruce Pine, North Carolina. Terri's art and work have been featured in several articles published by the Asheville Citizen-Times newspaper. She has also appeared on WLOS-TV Channel 13 in Asheville on Bob Caldwell's "In the Garden" March 15, 2002 and August 9, 2002. |
